2do 1.1.0 - Windows local installer REQUIREMENTS Windows 10 22H2 or Windows 11, 64-bit Intel/AMD (x64). Google Chrome for the dashboard. Node.js is included; npm is not required. INSTALL Run 2do-Setup-1.1.0-x64.exe. Setup installs for the current Windows user without requiring administrator rights. It adds a Start menu folder and offers a desktop shortcut. No automatic Windows startup entry is added. OPEN Start 2do from the Start menu or desktop shortcut. A royal-blue checkmark appears in the system tray (possibly under the hidden-icons arrow). The dashboard opens in Chrome at http://127.0.0.1:4312/. Left-click the tray icon to open the dashboard again. Right-click the tray icon for Start server or Quit 2do. Closing the browser leaves the tray app running; Quit 2do stops its server. If another app or another 2do data folder occupies port 4312, close that copy first. The launcher will not show the other copy's task database. YOUR GROUPS A fresh installation has no preset groups, tasks or notes. Open Manage groups in the dashboard and create names that fit your day, such as Projects or Home. Use Save name to rename a group. Renaming keeps its tasks and notes. An empty group can be deleted; move all tasks (including completed tasks) to another group before deleting a group that contains records. Upgrades preserve all existing group names, tasks, notes and classifications. ADD TASKS Open Start > 2do > Add a task to 2do and answer the prompts. Choose from your own groups. If none exist yet, the helper asks you to name your first group. The first group is selected when you accept the default. Optional due dates use YYYY-MM-DD. Tasks appear after the next dashboard refresh. Open a task to change its group, priority, status, date or add notes. All source URLs in notes are clickable inside task details. For an assistant or command-line integration, open Command Prompt in the installation folder and use the included helper: 2do-tasks.cmd groups 2do-tasks.cmd group-add "Projects" echo {"title":"Take a walk","category":"GROUP_ID"} | 2do-tasks.cmd add 2do-tasks.cmd list 2do-tasks.cmd complete TASK_ID 2do-tasks.cmd reopen TASK_ID Replace GROUP_ID with the id from groups; replace TASK_ID with a task id. This is a local application. Installing it does not connect ChatGPT, scan conversations, sign into accounts or synchronize data with another person. YOUR DATA The installer contains no preloaded groups, tasks, notes, credentials or account data. Each Windows user's database is created at: %LOCALAPPDATA%\2do\data\tasks.sqlite The app's tray log is in the same folder. Updates and uninstall retain this folder. Reinstalling the app reconnects to that user's existing data. To back up your tasks, Quit 2do and copy the entire data folder somewhere safe. To erase retained tasks after uninstall, delete that data folder yourself. NETWORK The installed copy listens only on 127.0.0.1 by default. No firewall rule or network-share access is created. This installer does not enable phone access automatically. All task data stays on this Windows account. TIME DISPLAY Saved-note timestamps use America/New_York (Eastern Time), matching the existing app. Task due dates are stored as calendar dates. UNINSTALL / UPGRADE Use Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps > 2do, or the Start menu Uninstall 2do shortcut. Program files and shortcuts are removed; your data is kept. Run a newer installer to upgrade the same per-user installation. Never copy another person's database into the program directory. BUILD DETAILS The interface uses HTML, CSS and JavaScript. A bundled Node.js 24.19.0 runtime serves the app and stores tasks in SQLite. The Windows tray launcher is compiled C# for .NET Framework 4.8, included with supported Windows installations. Node's license and third-party notices are in local\runtime\NODE-LICENSE.txt. The installer is unsigned. Windows may display an unknown-publisher or reputation warning. This build has not been validated on another physical PC. GROUP ORDER In Manage groups, use Move up and Move down. The order is saved and used by the dashboard, task Group selector, and task helper.
